Lessies

The term “lessies” has been used as a derogatory and demeaning term for lesbians. The deconstructing, redefining and “owning” of that term, results in diminishing of the negative connotation. In its place is empowerment.

The two women are unabashed or perhaps, unaware, of the sharing of their intimidate moment, an intimate moment of a kiss … a passionate kiss, with the viewer. Adding to this moment, and layered within the composition, are other symbols of passion. The angels, the Michelangelo drawings, the rose, and colors complement the intensity of the moment.
